Meet Doug:

“Most of my life, I’ve circled around organizing small groups of people with a common cause, a few small businesses to support my family, and some nonprofits (related resumé here).

My parents get most of the credit. They modeled what we now call “paying it forward.” In their spare time they were often leading nonprofit projects in my hometown of Montclair, New Jersey. Us kids would get roped in. I helped stuff & stamp countless mailers.

When I left home and settled in Maine, I discovered I had a similar aptitude. Frequently, I was the one identifying a need, seeing a solution, then rallying friends and colleagues to help make it happen.

Now, at this stage of my life, my early 70s, looking back / looking forward, I’m excited to help bring to Maine an enormously successful, intergenerational, community model that, by design, brings all ages together in mutual support.”
